Drug Rehab Treatment Center In California
“The Standard of Excellence in the Comprehensive Successful Treatment of Drug Addiction”
High-Quality Drug Addiction Treatment Center
It’s a complicated thing for anyone to come to grips with the fact that they might have a problem with drug addiction. The stigma alone keeps many people from seeking help, but the problem won’t go away and will only worsen over time without treatment. If it hasn’t happened already, it will take control of your life.
We understand our client’s reluctance regarding addiction treatment, so one of our priorities is to provide a safe and caring environment where the healing can begin without judgment.
We view recovery as a team effort between our staff and clients, and the goal is to find the root cause of the problem and resolve any underlying issues that may get in the way of sobriety.
There are many reasons why drug addiction happens, and we haven’t had a client yet that woke up one day and said they wanted to be addicted to drugs. But every one of them that accepted what their life had become after they got hooked knew they wanted to get better again. That’s where we come in.
Inspire Malibu is a world-class drug addiction treatment center that provides an advanced evidence-based approach to drug abuse treatment customized for each individual.
Each client is carefully assessed to discover their psychological needs and drug and/or alcohol use history. Once the evaluation is complete, the clinical team creates a unique treatment plan that adequately addresses their unique set of problems.
We specialize in proven protocols, utilizing only the most effective therapies and treatments. Every aspect of our drug addiction treatment program has been researched and proven to work.
By focusing on the origins of an individual’s issues, our staff can identify and address core patterns that provoke self-destructive and recurring behaviors in the addictive personality. By empowering an individual to gain progressive insight and awareness, we inspire vital motivation that can restore the addict to a healthy lifestyle free from drugs.
We treat the following substance abuse disorders:
- prescription medications

- opioids and opiates
- Alcohol Use
Individualized Drug Addiction Treatment for Each Client
No single treatment is appropriate for everyone.
Matching treatment settings, interventions, and services to an individual’s particular problems and needs is critical to his or her ultimate success in returning to functioning productively with family, in the workplace, and in society.
Our customized drug addiction treatment program offers various behavior-changing and motivational methods.
Effective treatment must address the individual’s drug abuse and any associated medical, psychological, social, vocational, and legal problems. Successful treatment attends to multiple needs of the individual, not just his or her drug use.
It is also important that treatment be appropriate to the individual’s age, gender, ethnicity, and culture.
Individual and group counseling and other behavioral therapies are the most commonly used forms of drug abuse treatment.
Behavioral therapies vary in their focus and may involve addressing a patient’s motivation to change, providing incentives for abstinence, building skills to resist drug use, and replacing drug-using activities with constructive and rewarding activities.
Different approaches for drug addiction treatment also focus on improving problem-solving skills and facilitating better interpersonal relationships. Personal participation in group therapy and other peer support programs during and following treatment can help maintain abstinence from drugs.
Individualized Treatment plans include the right combination of the following therapies:
- One on One Therapy
- Cognitive-Behavioral Techniques
- Exercise – Healthy Activities
- Stages of Change
- Stress Management
- Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation
- Motivational Enhancement Therapy
- Psychotherapy Education Groups
- Nutrition
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
- Relapse Prevention Therapy
- Neurofeedback Therapy (extra fee unless covered by insurance)
- After Care Planning
Psychological Issues in Drug Addiction Treatment Programs
Many individuals who are addicted to drugs might have other psychological disorders. Because drug abuse and addiction often occur in tandem with other mental illnesses, patients presenting with one condition should be assessed for others too.
When these problems co-occur, treatment should address all issues – not just drug addiction.
People suffering from depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD and ADHD often turn to drugs to help them cope with their untreated conditions.
At Inspire Malibu, we carefully test each client for possible co-occurring conditions and treat substance abuse and psychological issues simultaneously. This process is known as dual diagnosis.
It’s essential that our patients feel they are in a safe environment, their privacy is protected, and that they are kept comfortable during the drug withdrawal and rehabilitation process. Inspire Malibu offers exceptional accommodations, food, and staff that are on-call for our patients 24/7 for anything they may need.
Non-12-Step Approach
Our comprehensive, secular non-12-step drug rehab program has evolved over the past ten years of working with drug addiction patients and utilizes a variety of best practices in treatment, including a focus on the five core areas of psychological functioning.
Detox
After a full assessment to determine the appropriate course of treatment, drug detox is the first stage for those who need it. Detox is crucial for people addicted to heroin, opiates, and benzos.
Heroin and opioid addiction can cause painful withdrawal symptoms, and trained physicians carefully guide our detox program to ensure the safety and comfort of our clients.
It’s important to note that not everyone requires detox. Withdrawal from benzos and other prescription medications is not as uncomfortable as opiates, but they offer different factors and protocols. Nonetheless, comfort and safety are a top priority for all detox clients.
30-Day Addiction Treatment
Most clients begin a 30-day residential treatment program for addiction as recommended by the assessment. The program offers a comprehensive approach, including one-on-one and group sessions.
We also use various forms of cognitive therapy, relapse prevention techniques, and other methods to develop a sense of well-being and understand why addiction happens and ways to avoid triggers and urges in the future.
Extended Treatment
Inspire Malibu clinicians will make assessments near the end of the initial 30-day treatment period and make recommendations for the next steps.
Clients with complex underlying issues such as co-occurring disorders of severe depression, anxiety, bipolar, and other mental health issues might require a longer time to continue healing. We can easily accommodate extended treatment periods when needed.
Outpatient Treatment
Many clients find great success after our 30-day program, yet they still require extra time working on minor issues.
Our outpatient treatment program is ideal for clients in the area to receive continued treatment after completing the residential program.
We Have Two Outpatient Options Available:
- The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is 3 hours of treatment per day between 3-5 days a week.
- The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is 5 days a week for 5-7 hours a day.
The outpatient programs focus on skills training, relapse prevention, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational enhancement therapy in a mostly group setting.
Even though they are group sessions, they follow our non 12 step approach to addiction treatment.
We can provide an online outpatient program for those who require outpatient treatment but cannot attend in person.

We understand how difficult it can be to seek treatment for drug addiction, and we empathize with the struggle our clients endure daily. If you’re still reading this far, we applaud you for committing to exploring how to get your life back, and we’ll do everything we can to make it a reality.
Drug Addiction Treatment FAQ

This section answers the most common questions we get from people before they begin treatment.

While this FAQ covers drug addiction treatment, we also have a general FAQ page covering general topics about the Inspire Malibu Facility.
Do You Offer Drug Detox Programs?
The initial step in their drug addiction treatment plan for most patients is detox.
At Inspire Malibu, we offer detox for the following substances:
- Benzodiazepines (Ativan, Klonopin, Valium, Xanax)
- Heroin
- Opiates and Opioids (Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Vicodin, Percocet)
- Methadone and Suboxone
- Alcohol
Each type of drug requires something different in terms of detox, and you’ll be monitored by experienced detox professionals who will continually oversee your progress.
What if I Decide to Detox on My Own?
Under no circumstances is it wise to attempt to detox on your own.
Some of the most common symptoms of withdrawal include:
- Anxiety
- Confusion
- Nausea
- Paranoia
- Profuse sweating
- Seizures
- Severe trembling
- Vomiting
Other symptoms might occur based on your addiction history, types of drugs you’re addicted to, length of use, and other existing health problems.
Many people who try to detox on their own quickly give up and return to their addiction. The discomfort and pain can be too much without professional guidance and support.
In some cases, people have even died from detoxing without medical assistance.
At Inspire Malibu, we take pride in our safe and comfortable process. If necessary, our staff can prescribe medication to ease the symptoms.
After detox is complete, you’ll be ready to take the next step in your drug addiction treatment plan.
How Long Does Your Drug Addiction Treatment Take?
Most of our patients stay with us for 30 days and continue with the outpatient program after leaving.
We always conduct an initial assessment before recommending a residential drug addiction treatment program.
After the first 30 days, we’ll do a second assessment and provide you with another recommendation. It may be best for you to stay with us for 30, 60, or more days. Our facility can accommodate stays of any length.
How long you ultimately stay with us will depend on how much progress you make during that first month. The most important thing is that you stay with us for as long as possible.
What Is an Evidence-Based Approach to Drug Addiction Treatment?
Evidence-based treatment consists of multiple approaches that have proven to be successful at helping patients overcome addiction.
These include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This skill-oriented therapy is designed to show patients how their thoughts and behaviors are related. This includes looking at past experiences that may be causing problems and learning adaptive ways of thinking, leading to healthier forms of behavior.
- Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET): Patients collaborate with a therapist as a problem-solving unit to find the ideal solution. One of the main focuses of MET is showing the patient they are capable of recovery and other positive achievements.
- Prescribing Medications That Reduce Cravings: Medications like Suboxone are one of many that can help curtail the temptation to use drugs, giving therapy enough time to begin taking effect on the hidden causes behind a patient’s addiction.
We’re incredibly proud to offer an evidence-based approach to our patients. Many facilities still rely on 12-step principles, roots in organizations like Alcoholics Anonymous. These require embracing certain spiritual concepts as a means of treating addiction. Our secular approach doesn’t require adherence to religious or spiritual beliefs, yet any are welcome to be practiced.
Our evidence-based approach is more inclusive and considers underlying medical issues that often complicate addiction treatment and recovery.
Do You Use Medication in Your Drug Addiction Treatment?
Yes, we offer Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) when necessary for detox or addiction to certain substances. Our medical director was the first doctor in CA to be licensed to use Suboxone for treating heroin and opioid addiction.
Our clinical staff uses Medication-Assisted Treatment combined with behavioral therapy and counseling to help patients with their recovery.
No two people are the same, and no two addictions are the same. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean medication for everyone in our drug addiction program. We use a variety of treatment modalities that are individualized to suit each person’s unique needs. Before beginning any treatment plan, a board-certified addiction specialist performs a complete assessment.
Do I Have to Participate in Group Sessions?
Yes, group meetings are a part of every drug addiction treatment plan here at Inspire Malibu. While we understand it can be intimidating or uncomfortable to think about speaking about addiction in front of others, we can assure you that these sessions do work. Most patients also discover that they become pretty comfortable after the initial meeting.
Of course, you will also spend time in one-on-one therapy with an experienced counselor. Although group sessions are beneficial, we know that person requires individual attention. We appreciate that some topics are easier to discuss in private.
One-on-one sessions also allow our counselors to regularly assess how each person progresses with treatment, including listening to feedback. Our clinicians can make changes to ensure everyone is headed in the right direction.
Finally, the National Institute on Drug Abuse research has proven that individual therapy and group sessions are ideal for effectively treating addiction.
Do You Treat People Who Are Addicted to Marijuana?
One of the biggest misconceptions about drugs is that marijuana somehow isn’t addictive.
Unfortunately, this isn’t a harmless misunderstanding. Far too often, it keeps people from entering drug addiction treatment and getting the help they need.
Marijuana has several adverse side effects, and addiction is one of them. While it might not be as common or as harmful as other drugs, it’s possible to become psychologically and physically addicted to marijuana.
At Inspire Malibu, we take a psychological, social perspective, and clinical approach to treating patients who are addicted to marijuana and other drugs.
Research suggests people addicted to marijuana respond incredibly well to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Enhancement Therapy, both available at our facility. We also use a non-12-step program and individual and group therapy sessions, among other things.
Can You Accommodate My Unique Health Requirements?
At Inspire Malibu, we know that each of our patients is unique from all the others. This is why we take an equally unique approach to drug or alcohol addiction treatment for each of them. Our programs always incorporate one-on-one sessions, where counselors can focus on individual patients’ needs, concerns, and questions.
This approach is how we’re able to adapt to unique health requirements. Our staff includes a team of doctors and trained addiction and mental health specialists, which allows us to accommodate any health requirements that need to be considered for treatment to be successful.
Let us know about any requirements before or during intake, and we’ll prepare accordingly.
What if I Have a Co-Occurring Disorder?
Many of our patients come to us with dual diagnoses or co-occurring disorders. Because we have board-certified doctors in addiction medicine and psychiatry, we can treat people’s addictions and mental health issues.
Because addiction and mental health issues are often related, we understand that treating both problems at the same time offers the most successful outcome.
What Happens When I Complete Drug Addiction Treatment?
Despite what many people think, drug addiction treatment isn’t a magic cure for addiction. Recovery is an ongoing process that requires time to heal and return to a normal life.
During your time with us, our goal is to help you achieve sobriety, understand the underlying causes of your addiction, and provide you with the tools you’ll need to continue living clean for the rest of your life.
We offer outpatient options so you can continue connecting with your therapist and receiving whatever help you need to support your progress.
We even help many of our patients find therapists who specialize in the best care for them during their stays with us, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, SMART Recovery, outside groups, AA, and any therapies that offer the most success.
Patients are always welcome to return for further inpatient care if needed. Everyone person’s path to sobriety is different, and our door is always open.
Your family should also feel comfortable treating Inspire Malibu as a resource. We are available to help them better understand what they can do to help.
Can I Use Insurance to Pay for My Drug Addiction Treatment?
Inspire Malibu accepts several PPO insurance plans, and insurance can be verified on our website, or one of our intake specialists can review coverage over the phone for a definitive answer.
Do You Accept Medicaid/Medical or Medicare?
While we do not accept those forms of coverage, we offer financing plans which last for 18 months and come with zero interest.
